If you don’t have the tools needed, you can order a custom-made table directly from Warren’s Etsy shop. The table is the brainchild of Mike Warren, an Instructables enthusiast and a regular blogger at (Man Crafts section). It’s definitely one of the most unique trees on earth. After cutting the tree, the fungus dies and leaves indentations or “pockets” in the wood. Pecky Cypress is a type of wood that forms pockets due to a natural fungus that sculpts the tree. It may look like it’s out of this world but a glow epoxy resin table can actually be built at home using some Pecky Cypress planks and photoluminescent powder mixed with resin. The most famous table in history is probably King Arthur's Round Table.Imagine sitting outside and as the sun sets for the day, your table begins to glow with photoluminescent goodness. In daylight, its special decoration is beautiful and certainly sets it apart from more traditional wooden furniture.īut it's only in darkness that you get the full spectacular effect. Let the top coat harden for 48 hours.Īfter more than three days, your table will be ready. Smooth out the resin again and heat it with the Bunsen burner. Put newspaper or something similar underneath the table, so it can catch any drips. Mix epoxy resin and epoxy hardener in a ratio of two to one and cover the entire surface of the table with it. ![]() Heat the resin with the Bunsen burner. Burn-off bursts the little bubbles that can form in the resin, resulting in a smoother surface. For the smaller indentations, use a bottle with an applicator nozzle.Ĥ. Fill in all the notches with the paint mixture. Now mix the paint, from two parts of epoxy resin, glow in the dark paint powder, blue glitter, a drop of blue acrylic paint and lastly, one part epoxy hardener.
